This cute little punch art turkey was featured in our Stampin' Up! Demonstrator newsletter. What I liked about him the most is that EVERYTHING about him was made with a punch -- with just a little cutting on the square punch shape that makes his hat. I love that I don't have to cut out little triangles that I can never get to be just the right scale in terms of size so that they go with everything else.
So here's a guide below for the punches you need and what you are punching with them. I made this photo a large enough file that you can save it to your computer and it will not be too low res to print (at least that was the plan.) Also -- the scallop punch shape that says to make three is to make three in the colors of card stock or printed paper of your choice. You'll see on my turkeys that I made one in three different paper patterns. TIP: Click on this photo of the guide and it gets bigger.
I'll walk you through making his "feathers" and then put a close up so you can follow that and the guide to glue on the rest of his parts.
You need to have cut off the "5-scallop" section of the SU scallop circle punch shape as shown on the guide. Then fold that shape in half and then unfold it. Be sure to have the print that you want to be on the inside of his feathers be the part you have inside when this is folded.
Fold up one side so that the bottom straight edge lines up with that center score line.
Now fold in the second side the same way so it meets the center line. Those are your feather sections.
Here are all three laid out the way I would tape them to my card stock base with our SNAIL adhesive. I then used a 2-Way Glue Pen to build the turkey body and add his parts -- note that the little green buttons you see were punched from a scrap of the printed paper so they even have that little white stitching pattern to them. I put SU's sticky foam Dimensionals on the back of his body and then just attached that over the three feather sections that were already taped down -- that adds to his dimension and texture.
Here's a close up of the turkey.
And here he is on a 6 inch square scrapbook page (his middle feathers did get tilted a little during photography -- you'd want their edges lined up.)
Here's the matching page for that just so you can see how I pulled in the same coordinating papers from SU's Autumn Vine DSP collection and a scallop edge to match the turkey's feathers. I love the Chocolate Felt stitched ribbon accent (I just taped the ends to the back of the page -- great way to save ribbon.) That is a new ribbon from the Alpine Ribbon Originals set in the SU Holiday Mini Catalog.
These would be so cute on Thanksgiving table favors! They're quite addicting to make once you get started. Stampin' Up's exclusive Boho Blossoms flower punch is really a key here as it made his feet and cutely shaped beak -- if you need to purchase any of these punches, you can use my SHOP NOW link in the upper right corner of this blog.

VERY cute! My customers LOVE punch art cards. I do a class every month with them.
