What a wonderful day to tell those you love that you love them! Of course we should do that every day. What better way then to preserve their photos on pretty scrapbook pages you made yourself? This is a close up view of the bottom of the right side page in a two-page, six-inch square layout that my scrapbook club members made in January for their Valentine's Day photos -- or any photos that capture the loves of their lives. Images are from the Love you Much stamp set and they are all embossed on Pink Pirouette card stock using Close to Cocoa craft pigment ink and clear embossing powder -- that way they look like shiny chocolate!
Here's the full page view of that right side page. Cupid's "arrow" through the cut out heart is made using the hat pin from the Stampin' Up Pretties kit. The pearls are from the kit as well and that's a little card stock heart stuck on the end with a mini glue dot. Those little hearts are punched out with the new SU punch that's a perfect match for the Love You Much stamp set image!
Here's the left side page of the layout. Those little love birds from the same stamp set are stamped right onto the wide Pink Pirouette grosgrain ribbon with the Cocoa craft ink. I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig stamp positioner for perfect placement. The designer paper is the Candy Lane collection and the background pages are Close to Cocoa and Pink Pirouette card stock.
Finally, a Valentine's Day treat thanks to a wonderful post I saw on the amazing Cathy Zielske's blog. She's a designer, art director at Simple Scrapbook's magazine (boo-hoo, it's being absorbed into Creating Keepsakes) -- and just an all-around funny blogger. Someone shared this video with her and I'm sharing it with you. It's 16 minutes, but as Cathy said, it's worth it. Who doesn't need a smile, validation and to be told they're awesome?? Curious? Check out this incredibly well-made short film.
